Suscessfull Meeting held today at Sound Choice Comm Offices in Bloomington. Feb 17, 2007

12/31/1969 - 19:00

The primary topic of todays meeting was the creating of the agenda for the next two or three meetings and some disscussion of the format and sugguested changes.

We also introduced the new website. (You're looking at it)

Any member of the group (defined as anyone whos attended a meeting) will be added as an administrator of the website upon the asking. We need to have the community of members maintain the website and handle commuincations for the group.

To keep the meetings going we need the following support from our members.
- A Projector
- A Presentation
- A Meeting Location
- Someone to update the website
- Someone to make the announcement
- Someone to maintain the membership roster
- Someone to take notes and update the website after meetings
- Everyone to market the group to business and personal contacts and at other user groups. (Marketing)
- A Sponsorship manager; Meals, Door Prizes, etc...
- Someone to answer questions from prospective members... Phone calls and email come in through out the month.

Meeting ideas:

A Codec shootout. Try out each supported codec and compare quaility and bandwidth and any other factors.
A Linux Distro shootout. Compare the options for the OS installation.

Rather than a phone shootout, we'll introduce a new phone at each meeting. (20 minutes each month)

Other ideas:
How to configure different service providers
How to configure peering such as FWD
Repeat the DUNDi presenation and get peering going again
Repeat the extensions.conf discussions including security and proper use of contexts
USB Phone device comparisions
Softphone shootout.. (Each meeting instead?)
How to properly document an asterisk installation
Where to find Asterisk documentation

March Agenda:
- New Users Build Fest
- Jay Taylor will present the ATA 3102 for our device review ( New monthly agenda item )

April Agenda:
- Demo slackware installation for Asterisk
- Demo .... Another OS

May Agenda:
- Asterisk TDM Hardware shootout

- Digium
